Check the engine, the version and the changelog. Ren’Py and RPG Maker builds are small and usually safe; installers deserve a scan. A build two versions behind is not worth the download.
Five or six titles is plenty. A large library becomes another backlog, and a backlog stops being relaxing. Keep saves backed up and delete what you finished.
