Asia-Pacific Governments Recommit to ICPD, Agree to Sexual and Reproductive Rights!

Arrow Logo

The final Asian and Pacific Declaration on Population and Development is now out! 38 Asia and the Pacific governments have committed to the full and effective implementation of the ICPD POA, made history by recognising sexual and reproductive rights, and accorded high priority to achieving universal access to comprehensive and integrated quality sexual and reproductive health services. They also committed to urgently address poverty and hunger, design and implement comprehensive sexuality education programmes, provide social protection to migrants, including sexual and reproductive health services, and address discrimination, including on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, disability, and other status, amongst others. Despite reservations, it’s a victory to all the activists, advocates and government delegation allies! Here’s to SRHR for ALL!
