Resilience and Rights: Safety, Care and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Environmental Human Rights Defenders in Pakistan is co-authored by the Women Environmental Human Rights Defenders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh (Pakistan), with DASTAK Women Rights and Awareness Foundation and the Asia-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW),
This scoping study sets up the knowledge foundation to humanise the lived realities of women on the frontlines of climate change and the challenges they experience while accessing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Pakistan. Through the voices of WEHRDs, we have uncovered the stark gaps in disaster preparedness, the lack of gender-sensitive infrastructure, and the absence of mental health and sexual and reproductive health services in times of crisis. The study presents actionable recommendations for stakeholders to rebuild and improve the broken systems that neglect the needs of WEHRDs and overlook their critical roles as first responders, caregivers, and leaders in the community.
