The Safe Abortion Advocacy Initiative – A Global South Engagement (SAIGE), led by Asian-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW) is hosting a rewarding contest to scout creative and actionable strategies to counter the anti-choice rhetoric and advance rights-affirming narratives for advancing safe abortion.
Safe abortion advocates with promising solutions grounded in everyday realities will pitch their action-plans with potential to transform norms and redefine power towards improving access to safe abortion access to a panel of expert judges and stand a chance to win small grants to implement their proposals.
The session will create a space for cross-regional exchange of visionary, creative, and sustainable strategies for advancing safe abortion rights and access by navigating opposition. At the session, audience members will also have the opportunity to give constructive criticism and advice based on their own experiences in narrative-change. Mark your attendance on the Women Deliver Conference app, join the session, and gather to network with other safe abortion activists as well as to meet our panel of judges:
Beth Fredrick: Senior Advocacy Advisor, William H. Gates Institute, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Dr. Yasmeen Qazi: Chief Executive Officer, QZ Catalyst
Tham Hui Ying: Collaborative Consultant, Kemban Kolektif
Gizka Ayu Pratiwi: Advocacy and Policy Coordinator, Women’s Health Foundation Indonesia
