AFC-Supplement_Vol.21-No.1-2015_gender_srhr_post_2015

Why Gender Equality, SRHR and Sustainable Development? Sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are intrinsic human rights, are critical components of gender equality, and
are necessary to achieve sustainable development in Kyrgyzstan and globally.

In Kyrgyzstan, gender equality and SRHR are critical issues. The status of sexual and reproductive health and rights in the Kyrgyz Republic is at an unacceptable low level. SRHR of women and youth in particular is a challenge at the state level and requires the State’s and other development actors’
actions.
