Identifying Pressing Issues With Regard to Young People’ SRHR in Pakistan

The Asian Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW), on behalf of the Right Here Right Now (RHRN) Partnership, organized a national convening workshop in Pakistan from 20 – 22 July, 2016. This workshop brought together the national and provincial youth-led and youth serving organizations in Pakistan to discuss issues related to young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Discussions at the workshop were focused on identifying pressing issues in regards to young people’ SRHR in Pakistan. The workshop laid the foundation for the in-country programme of the RHRN partnership.

Key workshop outputs included, getting to know the organizations and participants, built understanding around RHRN, its objectives and TOCs, values clarified on MYP, Safe abortion, SOGIE, CSE, GTA. Conceptual clarity on advocacy and capacity strengthening brought all on the same page in their understanding in these areas. The workshop also identified advocacy priorities as well as capacity strengths and gaps for advocacy on prioritized issues.

The Right Here Right Now (RHRN) is a strategic partnership between Asian Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW), CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality (CHOICE), dance4life, Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries (Hivos), The International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Region (IPPFAR), Rutgers Netherlands, Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Health Network (LACWHN) and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs.
