Call for Applications: APPC Youth Forum (22-23 November, 2018)

ARROW, YPEER and YouthLEAD are jointly organising a Youth Forum prior to the mid-term review of the 6th Asian and Pacific Population Conference (APPC) on 22 – 23 November 2018 in Bangkok Thailand. The forum will be discussing the emerging population and development issues in relation to young people’s special needs and to bring young people’s voices to the forefront of discourses around sustainable development. The key objectives are:

  1. To review progress in implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), the key actions for the further implementation of the Programme of Action, and the recommendations of the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration and identify gaps, especially with regards to young people’s needs
  2. To identify emerging issues and trends relating to young people’s issues and lives realities in the context of sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development
  3. To develop a young people’s call-to-action to provide input to the mid-term review of the 6th APPC Ministerial Declaration and the global review and evaluation of the ICPD Programme of Action at the 52nd CPD.

We are inviting young people (30 years and below) from youth-led & youth-serving organisations across Asia Pacific to participate in the Youth Forum – please send in your application by completing the form via the link below:

Important Notes:

  • Young people (30 yrs old and below) from youth-led/youth-serving organisations and youth movement from Asia and the Pacific are eligible to apply.
  • Application deadline: 14 October 2018 (12 midnight Bangkok, Thailand time).
  • Please make sure to fill in all the questions and make your applications as strong as possible. Your answer should be concise and clear.
  • Participation is on self-funded basis. Participants will cover their own travel, accommodation and other incidentals. Lunch and refreshments during the meeting are provided by the organisers.
  • Ten (10) fully-funded scholarships are available.
