Sivananthi Thanenthiran, ARROW’s Executive Director, was on local radio station BFM 89.9, the Business Station on Wednesday, 29 May 2013. Siva talked about the status of sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the importance of women’s autonomy, the large unmet need for contraceptives (more than 220 million) in the region. In the context of industries contributing to the unmet need of reproductive health services, Siva encouraged businesses to focus on issues that they believe in. “The industry needs to understand that people want to be rooted in some reality, they want to be rooted in some ideals and principles, and this way of branding differentiation that they are aspiring for, can actually be hinged on principles that are beyond profit.” To listen to the podcast, please click here
