While gender discourses have drawn global attention to the differential impact of disasters on men and women, sexual and reproductive rights have largely been missing from scholarships, plans and practices in disaster management. The current regional brief presents evidence on the links between SRHR and disasters, and the importance of an inclusive and rights-based approach towards development and disaster risk reduction framework, especially as we move towards completing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Sendai Framework Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change (COP21).
