latin america and caribbean call for action to integrate srhr into the post-2015

Categories:

Throughout 2015, Intergovernmental negotiations were held, and concluded, on 2 August 2015 with a consensus expressed in the document that will be adopted next September, at the Summit for the Adoption of the Post-2015 Agenda.

Within this framework, such document reiterates the importance of respond- ing to young people’s demands, in the Post-2015 Development Agenda. Thus, firstly we provide a short overview of the situation of young people in Latin America and the Caribbean. Secondly, based on said situation, we analyze the content of the document “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, and highlight the issues that need to be strengthened when constructing the indicators, particularly in the goals and targets. Finally, we make a number of non-exhaustive recommendations aimed at helping the Development Agenda to improve the condi- tions of young people living in Latin America.

If this agenda is intended to leave no one behind, it is of the utmost importance that the indicators respond to the priorities of the youth that were not substantially included in the agenda.
