Asia-Pacific CSO Call to Action – Realising the SDGs Agenda: From Promises to Action

Categories:

On the 13th and 14th November 2017, champions and advocates of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) from Asia-Pacific convened to discuss the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region. The current Call to Action was borne out of this discussion, where we strongly call upon governments in the region, UN agencies and other stakeholders to uphold their commitments to fully implement the SDGs, especially Goals 3 and 5 on health and gender equality. Given the current political climate in the region, the call to action also additionally highlights the challenges faced by civil society organisations (CSOs) and human rights advocates in general in ensuring universal access to SRHR and accountability.
