Menka currently works as the Senior Program Manager at the Fiji Women’s Fund, where she manages grant administration and capacity support. She previously worked at the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement as the Team Leader- Gender and Transitional Justice and prior to that as a Research Officer. She has also worked at the Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding as a Research Officer. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management and Public Administration and Tourism Studies at the University of the South Pacific where she is also pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies. Menka also has a Professional Certificate in Women’s Peacebuilding Leadership from the Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA, US.
Menka is Fijian of Indian Descent and a human rights feminist activist based in Suva, Fiji. She is a former Secretary of the NGO Coalition on Human Rights in Fiji. In her short career of 7 years, she has done research in Gender and Peacebuilding Transistional Justice, Restorative Justice, Women’s Economic Empowerment in Fiji, Women’s Access to Justice in Fiji, Gender Gap in Fiji and the Pacific.
